Lulu.com

If you were like my dear friend “Tomelloso” you could think this is a triple x URL but it’s not like that! www.lulu.com is the most popular auto-publishing website in the world. It was created by the entrepreneur Bob Young (Red Hat founder).
The key here is offering the possibility to publish your own book free. There is no need for editorial boards or anyone to pick up the interesting book and publish it for you. Benefits for the author is 80% of the sales in opposite to the current 10% offered by classic publishing-companies. Following the Web 2.0 philosophy this guy is breaking again the market rules and with success!
Have you ever thought about writing and publishing your own book?

YoVigilo is IOP!

Two months ago I wrote a post about YoVigilo. If you don’t remember, YoVigilo is our business start-up project within the Venture Lab competition at Instituto de Empresa (IE). Well, last Monday it was pre-selected as IOP (Investors Oriented Project)! Only three projects achieved that at this stage among all projects participants from different programs (Executive MBA, Part-Time MBAs, International MBAs, and so on). There is another round next month. Only ten projects will be picked up and get the opportunity to present the BP (business plan) to an investor’s audience.
We’re quite happy with this achievement and would like to thanks everybody for helping us to get to this point... Eva, Julio, Jason K, Sergio C, Diego S, Victor M, Santiago M, Simon F, Paco F,…
Still a lot of work to do though…

Tarifa Sunset

Last Saturday night we were lucky enough to see this wonderful sunset at Tarifa beach. It’s been a wonderful weekend, we had many reasons why to enjoy and celebrate live! I was thinking to myself when was the last time I saw a sunset and I couldn’t remember…
We live very fast, sometimes we prefer to hurry up from one bar to the other or from one TV-program to the other instead of chill out in contact with Nature.
I strongly recommend you to step back, relax and see one sunset if you have the opportunity.

Chinchón

Today it was my birthday and we went to Chinchón to celebrate it! It's a very nice motorbike trip to do. We ate very well at a restaurant called "Virrey" just at the Town Centre (in a balcony with views to the Mayor Square).
Aguila 650 GV goes on behaving very well and it's a pleasure driving her. You can see me in this "Easy-Rider" look with Chinchón Castle at the back.
As I said in another post (when we went to Pedraza)... How happy I am to be back in Spain!!

"my two dogs didn't recognize me"

Last night I was invited to a conference dinner organize by the young executives association here in Madrid. Twenty people around a table at a famous Hotel at Gran Via. Those words were pronounced by a successful and famous Spanish ex-CEO of a big consultancy (80.000 employees worldwide). He talked mainly about his professional career and experiences. It was interesting (a few good ideas) but at the same time a bit disappointing.. I will tell you why.
He have worked very hard all his live, probably too much. While having dinner, he told us a story. At his middle-age, he was assigned to a one-year very challenging-project and traveling a lot was part of it. Brazil, Japan, USA, South Africa,… Apparently, one day he came back home and his two dogs didn’t recognize him… I wondered then what about his wife.. but decided not to say anything and keep on listening… :-)
How can anyone be proud of something like that? He insisted in the importance of be exigent with oneself and others but for Christ’s sake till what point!
He started the speech describing his philosophy for live, he made us think that you have to choose between your personal live or be professionally successful.
Well, I DO NOT agree with him.
What about you?
Thanks and smile,

Pretty Ally

Well guys, doesn’t she look cute wearing a flamenco dress?
Last weekend, we spent quite a good time in Seville (April Fair) enjoying that wonderful party full of flamenco, friendly people, good food and wine. If you have a chance don’t hesitate and visit Seville and enjoy that big Party.
Later, we had the chance to go to Tarifa too. I could spend some time windsurfing and realizing how far I’m from being in good shape and fit. Following day I had pain in every single muscle of my body… Time to take seriously exercising is coming.. :-)
It’s been a good and relaxing bank holiday to disconnect from day to day stuff.
Batteries charged and ready for the final sprint in the MBA!
Thanks and smile,
